Ladd’s Addition is definitely one of SE Portland’s unique and interesting neighborhoods. The streets run diagonally and weave around four rose gardens and a large circle at the center of the neighborhood. Most of the houses are Craftsman style Foursquares and bungalows, with some mid century ranch style homes and cottages mixed in. For more info on Ladds Addition check out the Ladds Wiki
So much brick and sky. I Don’t know why but i had to take a picture.
An interesting inside corner window.
Bottle and cob planter. Nice artistic touch!
Turns out there are a lot of churches in Ladd’s.
Nice bungalow. (sorry about the picture)I like the combination of the pebble finish walls and bold colors.
This is where Ladd himself lived back in the day.
This is an interesting spanish style home. Not quite the norm for Ladd’s Addition but part of what I like about Ladd’s are all of the unique places sprinkled throughout.
There are houses with barn style roofs sprinkled all over Portland. This one looks like a portland barn style house crossed with a cape cod.
This just seemed like a particularly Ladd’s style collection of houses.
I learned about Little Free Library on this walk and so can you: http://littlefreelibrary.org/
There are many large Craftsman Foursquare style houses in Ladd’s. This one’s purple!
Thinking about getting some angles for my entryway now.
Here’s a fun garage door painting!
This place striking in it’s simplicity. Once again I like the pebble finish walls.
You have to see some collections of bungalows to get Ladd’s
I like all of the yard art at this house.
More churchy goodness!
This house is just interesting to look at!
I like how many houses there are in Ladd’s Addition that seem like there tucked away in the woods.
A cute little cottage!
Some cool retroness!
This is a church that was turned into a house. I got to go inside once. It’s a very cool place!
The big round patio balances all of the angular details of this house nicely.
